IVF Stats

As I started perusing the world of infertility blogs, I always found myself drawn to the list of the person’s IVF cycle history – sometimes for inspiration (this does work) and sometimes for perspective (be patient…look what others have gone through – we’re still rookies).  So, in that vein, I’m including my journey:

The Road Thus Far:

February 2006 – Finally met the man I’d been waiting for all those years

January 2008 – Married!

July 2008 – 1st appt with RE (Went at 6 months due to age and previous history of GYN surgery due to borderline ovarian cancer).  Due to scarring and our “advanced” ages, RE recommended we move straight to IVF.

October 2008 – IVF #1 – Canceled due to high E2 levels

December 2008 IVF/ICSI #1.5 – 23 eggs retrieved, 12 mature, 5 fertilized, 3 transferred, 1 frozen…BFN.  I didn’t keep track of each of my med changes on this cycle, but it basically consisted of Gonal-F, Menupur, Ganirelix the last 3 days, and then Ovidrel as the trigger.

January 9, 2009 – Start of IVF #2 with Lupron injections.  My RE has changed the protocol to try to improve  the quality of eggs – going for quality over quantity.  Hope to start stims around Feb. 1.  ER/ET planned for week of Feb. 11th.  This time I plan to keep a more detailed record of the stimulation protocol, just so I have that as a reference.  If you’re so inclined, feel free by clicking on IVF #2 on the page menu on the right.

March 2, 2009 – BFN

June, 2009 – Coming Attractions:  IVF #3
